The 3M Protecta Pro Mobile Rope Grab is used in combination with a lifeline, lanyard or connector, and body support to restrain a worker from getting involved in an accident
Do not alter or intentionally misuse this equipment. Consult PROTECTA if using this equipment with components or subsystems other than those described in this manual. Some subsystem and component combinations may interfere with the operation of this equipment.
The rope grab is a part of a fall arrest system and permits a maximum free fall of 6 feet. A height/depth more than that makes it riskier for the person. The rope grab supports a weight of around 310 lbs. and only a single person can attach itself to a rope grab at one time. It must be monitored that the equipment should not be exposed to environments where corrosion of metal parts is possible as it may hamper its functioning. The rope grab should also be kept away from solutions containing acids, alkali, or other caustic chemicals. The equipment must be connected to self-locking snap hooks and carabiners. The 3M Protecta Pro Mobile Rope Grab should be used with Capital Safety lifelines and lifeline subsystems.
